About our owner:​

Ben started his electrical career at the age of 20. From the start of his career, Ben was fortunate to work for a couple of extremely responsible local electrical contractors that specialized in high end, high quality residential electrical work. In an effort to expand his knowledge, Ben left residential construction in 2004 and went to work as a project supervisor for an electrical contractor that specialized in large commercial, industrial, and hospital electrical projects. This unique mix of experience gave Ben the confidence he needed to begin thinking about the possibility of starting his own company. After many long weekends and late nights doing small projects for friends and neighbors, he finally had enough work to formally start a business of his own, and in 2007 South Shore Electrical Contractors was born.
Since then, Ben has worked tirelessly to stay on top of the latest in modern electrical practices. He frequently attends continuing education seminars in order to keep up with the latest electrical codes, lighting technologies, modern automation, and installation techniques.
He has also published several articles detailing proper installation practices for JLC: The Journal of Light Construction, which is a highly respected trade magazine aimed at construction professionals. South Shore's work has also been featured in two This Old House Idea House projects. You can see Ben on TV in the 40th season of This Old House, wiring a net zero remodel for an esteemed local architect. He is also slated to be back for episodes in season 41!
Believing that a strong work ethic and extreme attention to detail are what keeps his business successful, Ben still works in the field daily, designs the electrical and lighting layouts for most of our projects, and takes the time to meet with each of our clients personally to ensure their satisfaction with our work. He is incredibly grateful for the opportunities he has worked so hard to earn, and treats each new project opportunity with the respect and gratitude that it deserves. Ben is a lifetime resident of South County, where he lives with his wife of fifteen years and his two children, Cailin and Christian.

Everyone knows that a great organization is only as good as it's team members. At South Shore we have a wonderful group of team members that are highly dedicated to their craft. They are all long term employees who have been trained from the start with our company. Each member of the team is either a licensed Master Electrician, Journey Person, or is currently enrolled in the State of Rhode Island Apprenticeship Program and is working towards being a fully licensed electrician. They have over 30 years of combined experience, and can't wait to service your electrical needs.
